Privacy policy

AussieStitch respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we look after it, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles and, for customers in New Zealand, the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

• Your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number, business or club name and delivery details.
• The logos, artwork and notes you send with a proof request or message.
• The photos you upload for a photo portrait.
• Your email address if you join our newsletter.
• Basic, anonymous visit statistics (which pages are viewed and where visitors came from). We don't use advertising cookies and don't build a profile of you.

Why we collect it

• To prepare your proof, make and deliver your order, and talk to you about it.
• To answer your questions.
• To send our newsletter, if you asked for it. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the shop: our website host, our email provider, our payment provider and couriers who deliver your order. Some of these services store information on servers outside Australia. We never sell your information.

Your logos and artwork

We use the artwork you send only to make your order. We keep it so re-orders are easy; ask us any time and we'll delete it.

Your photos and portraits

We use the photos you upload only to draw your portrait for embroidery and make your order.

• Who sees them: only our team. Our designers, who redraw your photo by hand, are in India, so your photos are sent to them there. We're telling you because that's outside Australia. Designers see your photos and design choices only, never your name or contact details.
• Your photos are stored privately, never shown on the website and never sent to AI services. We remove location and camera details from photos when you upload them.
• How long we keep them: photos you don't order are deleted after 7 days. For an order, they're deleted 90 days after the order is finished or cancelled, so we can fix anything that goes wrong. Ask us at hello@aussiestitch.com.au and we'll delete them sooner.
• Please only upload photos of people who are happy for you to use them. A parent or guardian decides for anyone under 18.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@aussiestitch.com.au. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, tell us and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or in New Zealand the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
